There are three types of gold, the white, the yellow and the platinum.
A gold jewellery never goes out of fashion. It can be moulded into nearly any shape, from tiny strands that do not break easily to very thin sheets. One ounce of gold can even be hammered into an ultra thin sheet that is ten feet square.
The ring on your finger, the chain on your neck, or your bracelet, could be marked 24K, 18K, 14K, or 10K. The K stands for karat. It is a system used to describe the percentage of pure gold an item contains.
The higher the karat number, the higher the percentage of gold. 10K gold is the minimum karat that can be called gold in the United States.
When wearing gold accessory, avoid glitter! Less is more. Your dressing should be simple. Pair gold jewellery with clothes of neutral hues (burgundy, emerald green, purples and deep blues).
Mind face shapes: Your face shapes has a lot to do with your jewellery especially your necklace. A long chain enhances a squared or round shape face. People with long neck will look more elegant in a short necklace around the neck. A chocker necklace will be attractive for those with oblong/ rectangular faces.
Skin colour: This also dictates the type of jewellery to wear. Gold jewellery is more flattering on light skins. This does not mean dark complexions should avoid gold.
Perfume, make-up: Endeavour to apply your make-up hairspray and perfume before wearing your gold jewellery. Hair spray and other makeup products make gold sticky therefore attracting dust and taking off the shine.
