Lingard Heads Winner As Man Utd Defeat Chelsea

Manchester United-BolaEshosBlog

Manchester United moved back into second place in the Premier League as substitute Jesse Lingard gave them victory over top-four rivals Chelsea at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils had to come from behind after Willian started and finished a flowing move to give the visitors the lead in the first half.

United pulled level before the break, with striker Romelu Lukaku getting in front of Marcos Alonso to score against his former club for the first time.

Lukaku then set up Lingard to head home with 15 minutes left, after which Chelsea's Alvaro Morata had a goal incorrectly disallowed for offside.

Defeat leaves the Blues in fifth place after Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 1-0 earlier on Sunday.

A run of just one win in their past four league matches, coupled with Spurs' 10-game unbeaten streak, means they are out of the Champions League places with 10 games remaining.

Man City Brush Aside Arsenal To Win Carabao Cup

Man City-BolaEshosBlog

Manchester City won their first trophy under Pep Guardiola as they brushed side Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Sergio Aguero took advantage of some poor Shkodran Mustafi defending to latch on to Claudio Bravo's goal-kick and lob David Ospina for the opener.

Captain Vincent Kompany diverted home Ilkay Gundogan's shot to double their lead.
And David Silva added the third when he smashed home from Danilo's pass.

The Gunners were as poor as the scoreline suggests and their best chance came at 0-0 but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's close-range effort was at Bravo.

The League Cup remains the only domestic trophy Arsene Wenger has not won at Arsenal, losing in the final for the third time in his 21-year reign.

Guardiola, whose side are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League, again wore the yellow ribbon to support jailed Catalan politicians that has landed him in trouble with the Football Association.

In his second season at City, he can now add the EFL Cup to the 21 trophies he won as boss of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

McLaren Turns Orange For 2018 Season

McLaren-BolaEshosBlog

McLaren have revealed the car they hope will return them to at least relative competitiveness.
The MCL33 has switched from Honda to a Renault engine and is predominantly orange, echoing McLaren's historic 1960s livery.

The car is a clear design evolution of last year's, which was regarded as one of the best chassis on the grid.

Executive director Zak Brown said success would be "racing and qualifying at the front, getting on the podium"

Star driver Fernando Alonso, who is dovetailing his Formula 1 commitments with a full season with Toyota in the World Endurance Championship, was first behind the wheel in testing on Friday.
"It felt great. It's always a special moment to drive the car for the first time. Everything felt good," said the two-time world champion after his first laps in the new car.
"Trying to fight for podiums and race victories, that will be our aim.
"The car certainly looks very neat and well thought out, and I think the new colour looks really great - really eye-catching."
The 36-year-old Spaniard will be partnered again this year by Stoffel Vandoorne of Belgium.
