Oily Skin: Some skins are naturally oily and can blend with cologne to create longer- lasting and more powerful scents. Alternatively, too much natural skin oils or perspiration means the cologne may not blend with original skin smell.
Men with oily skin should go for lighter fragrances and wear less cologne during the day. Cologne made for summer are the best for men with oily skin.
Dry Skin: Men with dry skin are more likely to have cologne evaporate from their body easily, so it must be applied more frequently. However, frequent reapplications could damage the already dry skin. If you have a dry skin, opt for 'winter' cologne. They last longer and will blend with your body smell.
Sensitive Skin: Men with sensitive skin should avoid wearing strong cologne . If you are prone to rashes and acne, also avoid using cologne alongside strong aftershave balms and body sprays. In choosing the right cologne, the same rule for a dry skin applies.
However, it is preferable to get cologne with all natural ingredients.
Cologne Types
Eau De Cologne: Usually light, fresh, and fruity. It is typically composed of two to four percent perfume oils in alcohol and water. It lasts for about two hours.
Eau de toilette: A light spray composition with five to 15 per cent pure perfume essence dissolved in alcohol. Usually lasts for about three hours.
Eau de parfum: This contains 15 to 20 per cent pure perfume essence and lasts for about 5 to 8 hours.
Parfume: The most concentrated and expensive of all fragrance options, it is slightly oily and is composed of 20 to 30 per cent pure perfume essence. A single application can last for up to 24 hours.
