Telawaa: Did You Know?

On TELAWAA (The English Language Academy With Ayo Alonge), we would be looking at a word.

When a politician leaves/dumps a political party and joins another, the most appropriate verb to use is "defect", not "decamp".

To "decamp" doesn't necessarily mean leaving a political party. Specifically, it speaks of leaving a place suddenly and secretly.

Example:
Saraki, Tambuwal, Kwakwanso, Akpabio and many more, have all DEFECTed from one party to another.
