Inter cancel pre-match news conference over 'offensive letter'

Inter Milan cancelled a pre-match news conference on Saturday after what it called an "offensive letter" about manager Antonio Conte was printed in Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A club said the letter, submitted by a reader, was accompanied with a comment from one of the paper's journalists "justifying its aggression".
"In order to send out a message to all media outlets that they must 'guarantee respect for people', there won't be a press conference today," the club said.
Inter were eliminated from the Champions League on Tuesday, losing 2-1 to a young Barcelona team to finish third in their group behind the Spanish giants and Borussia Dortmund.

In the letter, a Bologna fan said that he "enjoyed seeing the great Inter outclassed by Barcelona B", who had shown Inter's "worn-out" coach how to play football.

The fan added that although Conte has won a lot of games in his career, he has "never shown a good game" and despite spending more than 150 million euros (£125m), Inter could not beat Slavia Prague and lost to Dortmund in the Champions League.

A journalist added a comment to the letter, saying that Inter have "thrown away the Champions League and maybe the rest too" by loaning striker Mauro Icardi to French side Paris St-Germain.

Arsenal's Tierney out for three months

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney will be out for three months after dislocating his shoulder.

Scot Tierney, 22, was forced off in Monday's Premier League win at West Ham and will have surgery next week.

The injury was sustained in Tierney's third Premier League start since his £25m move from Celtic in August.

It means the left-back is a major doubt for Scotland's Euro 2020 play-off against Israel at Hampden Park on 26 March.

Tierney, whose last cap for his country was 14 months ago, had to wait until late September for his Arsenal debut after a double hernia operation in May.

Joshua targets Fury or Wilder in 2020

Unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says a fight with Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder "has to happen in 2020".

Britain's Joshua reclaimed his IBF, WBA and WBO titles from Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

WBC champion Deontay Wilder is scheduled for a rematch with Britain's Tyson Fury on 22 February.
"I feel like it's 'Lord of the Rings', the last ring, let's get it on, let's make history," said Joshua, 30.
Speaking on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, he added: "It has to happen in 2020, we're in the same division, same era, if these guys want to make history, especially Wilder because he has the last belt.
"We created history by becoming a two-time champion of the world and I feel like we can add to that legacy in 2020."
By defeating Ruiz, Joshua joined a small cluster of men including Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and Floyd Patterson to have reclaimed the world heavyweight title.

Joshua says he will fight either the WBO's mandatory challenger - currently Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk - or the man in the same position with the IBF, Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev next.
"If I don't fight those guys I'll have to give up my belt and I'd rather fight to defend them," he added.
