"impeach" - (verb)
The word "impeach" is what we have always assumed we understand, but that's meant to be reconsidered.
To "impeach" doesn't mean removal from job/office. It means to allege, charge, indict, in a bid to open a door for a trial to commence; to question your integrity or the validity of something.
For instance, despite being impeached, Trump remains the president, until being tried and declared guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, and of course the Senate.
I know this is contrary to our long lasting understanding of the word "impeach" but this is English!
