Kane Becomes Spurs' Record Premier League Goalscorer

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino praised Harry Kane's "fantastic achievement" as he scored twice in a comfortable home victory over Everton to become Spurs' record Premier League goalscorer.

Kane twice netted from close range - converting passes from Son Heung-min and Eric Dier - to take his Premier League tally to 98, one more than Teddy Sheringham scored for the club.

The excellent Son opened the scoring at Wembley by finishing off Serge Aurier's cross, and the South Korea international later hit a post as the hosts dominated.

Christian Eriksen smashed in a fourth from the edge of the penalty area late on after a fine backheel from Dele Alli.

When the game was goalless, Wayne Rooney thought he had put Everton ahead with a header but he was adjudged offside.

Tottenham, who are now unbeaten in six matches, remain fifth in the Premier League, but are level on points with Liverpool and 18 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Villarreal Win At Real For The First Time

Pablo Fornals scored a superb late goal for Villarreal as they won at the Bernabeu for the first time to load more pressure on Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

Real edged the first half and Gareth Bale had a header ruled out for offside, before Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick was tipped on to the bar.

However, the visitors improved in the second period and deservedly went ahead after breaking at pace from a Real corner.

Denis Cheryshev found Enes Unal, whose shot was saved by Keylor Navas - but Fornals then chipped the stranded keeper from 20 yards.

Fourth-placed Real Madrid, who won last season's La Liga title and the Champions League, remain 16 points behind leaders Barcelona - and that gap could increase when Barca visit Real Sociedad on Sunday (19:45 GMT).

Zidane's side's Champions League spot for next season is looking perilous - they now sit only one point above Villarreal, who move up to fifth.

Rory Reveals Heart Irregularity

Rory McIlroy has opened up on his health problems concerning an irregularity with his heart.

The 28-year-old four-time major winner endured an injury-plagued 2017 season and said in September he would subject himself to "basically a full health MOT type of thing".

And McIlroy, who failed to win a tournament last season for just the second time in his professional career, revealed the rib problem that hampered his year was not the cause for concern.
"The rib's fine, no problems whatsoever," he told the Telegraph. "I had an MRI scan on my thoracic spine and all was OK.
"But I've got a bit of an irregularity with my heart that I have to keep on top of. I have a flat T-wave and I'll have to get an echo (cardiogram) on my heart every six months and an MRI scan every year.
"For now, I just need to stay on top of it and have to stay fit."

F1 Boss Keen On Copenhagen Race By 2020

Formula 1 boss Chase Carey has backed plans for a new race in the Danish capital Copenhagen.

Carey discussed the proposal, aimed at holding a race by 2020, with the city's mayor and Denmark's business minister on a visit to Copenhagen on Wednesday.
"We're excited about the opportunity to explore a potential race here," Carey said, adding no decision had been made."
Copenhagen represents the type of location we think can really provide a great platform.

New races in 'destination cities' are a key part of the ambition of F1's new owners Liberty Media to reshape the sport following their removal of long-time boss Bernie Ecclestone last year.

They are targeting events in key markets such as the US and Asia, and races in Miami and Vietnam are among those that have been mooted.
