He was born on May 25th, 1957 and hails from Ilesa in Osun State. He had his Primary and Secondary education in Ondo State and thereafter attended The Polytechnic, lbadan where he studied Mechanical Engineering in 1980.
Mr. Governor was the Commissioner for Works in Lagos State before running for Gubernitorial seat of Osun State in 2007.
In 2010, he was declared winner of 2007 Gubernitorial election by Justice of the Federal Appeal Court, Ibadan.
He has had tremendious achievements in areas of education, works, health, youth empowerment, agriculture amongst others.
He was conferred the Honorary Life Member of the State's House of Assembly as the 27th Honourable Member on May 23rd, 2017.
He is happily married to Alhaja Sherifat Abidemi Aregbesola and the union is blessed with children and grandchildren.
He has won so many awards to his credit too numerous to mention.
